Classroom Technology

Our mission is to serve as a technology advocate for the enhancement of teaching and learning and as a technical support resource to the faculty of the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Over the past few years, OIT has been able to design and install new "Classroom Technology" in a major portion of the general-purpose classrooms and lecture halls on campus.

Today, we manage the operations of over 100 General-Purpose classrooms and lecture halls with installed classroom technologies. This includes but is not limited to video projectors, PCs, VCRs, document cameras, program audio systems and electric screens. In addition, we also help with the operation and support of more than 50 specialty rooms, which contain similar equipment. A staff of Systems Support Specialists and Student Assistants are available to assist faculty and staff Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Classroom Technologies is located in the Rich building on the corner of Fourth St. and Ferst Ave., just down the hill from the Georgia Tech library. To get to the office enter the Rich building at the ground floor entrance; proceed past customer service and follow the hallway to room 127-A (We will be occupying this office as of Fall 2003). For additional technical assistance you may call 404-894-4669. This number is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week for your convenience.
