October 29, 2007 Update

Current Situation

The Office of Information Technology is pleased to announce that as of August 30, 2007 the conversion to the new Georgia Tech Telecommunications system was completed. We are now in the cleanup phase of the program.

During the cleanup phase we are going over all of the buildings to ensure that we have converted all applicable phone numbers to the new Georgia Tech system. We have learned that one of the greatest challenges associated with converting a building to the new system is accurately identifying all of the building's telephone users and their telecommunications requirements. We will continue to work with each organization's telecommunications coordinator in an effort to accurately capture this information and quickly convert all remaining phone lines on the GTA system to the Georgia Tech system.
