The following hardware and software recommendations are intended for Academic Desktop PCs. These recommendations are provided as guidelines for basic hardware purchase, general use software configuration, and correlate to the minimums recommended for incoming freshmen students for Fall 2004.

Recommended Hardware - Desktop PCs for Academic Use

		Minimum Requirements
	Processor:	Pentium IV class or Power Mac G4
	RAM:	512 MB
	Hard Disk:	30 GB IDE
	Monitor:	17" Monitor (VGA) or 15" Flat Panel
	Network Card:	10/100 Base-T Network Adapter or card
	Other Features:	CDRW-ROM, Sound Card, Speakers

Recommended Software - General Use

The following software recommendation is for Academic users.
