Desktop Workstations

The Office of Information Technology has established desktop recommendations for both hardware and software.

Academic Desktop

A list of Standard Academic Desktop Recommendations for hardware and software have been developed to assist with for basic hardware purchases and general use software configuration.

Administrative Desktop

Standard Administrative Desktop Recommendations are available to use as guidelines for basic hardware purchases and general use software configuration. The applications defined in the Standard Administrative Desktop Suite are those applications which are used by most administrative users across the campus.

Patch Management Service

OIT offers a centrally managed patch management service for Institute-owned Microsoft Windows servers and desktop PCs and throughout campus. The list of patches tested and deployed to the standard administrative desktop configuration is available.

Help Documents

Some help documents are available on activating password protected screen savers and recommended McAfee A/V setttings.
