Georgia Tech Network Scanning

As part of its information security mission, OIT Information Security has licensed Internet Scanner from Internet Security Systems. This tool allows us to scan any computer on the Georgia Tech network for security vulnerabilities.

The Scanner connects to computers over the network and checks whether known security problems have been corrected. In particular, it checks that recommended security patches and software updates have been applied, and it reports on the security-related system configuration options that are in use.

We are currently scanning ResNet for vulnerabilities regularly. We plan to start scanning the rest of the network for vulnerabilites shortly.

CSRs may request ISS keys to scan their designated areas.
