Software License Administration Site Launches
Thursday January 6, 2011
As software needs grow on the Georgia Tech campus, so does the need for better communication about the software that is available for use. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has heard the requests and launched a new site: Software License Administration.
The site is designed to be an information portal for “all things software” for campus. From this site, the Georgia Tech community can obtain information about
- Who to contact for software licensing questions in their academic areas
- How to purchase software for departmental use
- How to purchase software for personal use
Another feature of the site, is a calendar of Vendor Events & Training with links to registration for each. In addition, there is a calendar providing a comprehensive list of when the contract/license renewals are scheduled for each package. The goal is to help each department plan their software purchases for the year.
This site will continue to grow with each new software package added to the OIT download site. Please visit the site regularly to see what’s new and what’s coming up. The URL for this new site is: http://www.software.oit.gatech.edu/licensing
If you have any questions or suggestions, OIT is more than happy to get feedback as OIT works on bringing the community as much valuable information as possible. Please contact JulieBeth Golden (juliebeth.golden@oit.gatech.edu).
