Institute-Level Policies

The Institute policies were developed through campus-wide collaboration. The intent and purpose of the policies is to ensure that Georgia Tech is in compliance with the security and control requirements of various government and industry regulations including:

• FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
• GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)
• PCI (Payment Card Industry)

The policies and supporting procedures and standards must be followed by all Georgia Tech units and schools. In cases where a policy cannot be adhered to, an Exception Process exists to evaluate and document the exception.
