Voice Mail Tutorial From a New Mailbox
To Start: Dial 404-385-TECH (8324) (internally dial 5-TECH -- 5-8324)
- You will hear Enter Your Passcode (This is your 10-digit telephone number.)
- You will then be introduced to the tutorial.
- You will be prompted to change your passcode. It must be between 4 and 10 digits in length.
Once your mailbox has been set up:
- Digital Sets: The message indicator light will light up when you have messages in your mailbox.
- Analog Sets: There will be a stutter dial tone when you pick up the handset if you have a message.
To retrieve voice mail messages:
- Dial 5-8324
- Enter your passcode (a passcode is your password)
- Press "P" to play messages
To retrieve messages from another telephone:
- Dial 404-385-8324
- You will be asked to enter a mailbox number.
- If the station does not have a mailbox on the line, proceed to step 3.
- If the station does have a mailbox, press * when you are asked for a passcode. Then proceed to step 3.
- Dial your own telephone number.
- When your messages starts to play, press * and enter your passcode when asked.

Passcode Protection
If you mis-dial your passcode, the system will prompt you to enter your passcode again. To ensure that you are the owner, you will be asked to enter your passcode an additional time.
Lockout
If you have 5 (five) bad logins within 24 hours, you will be locked out of your mailbox until your passcode has been re-set by telephone repair service. (404-894-7173 Option 3).
* Key
When you are away from your telephone, you must depress the star (*) key to access your mailbox as soon as you hear your own greeting
Exit Key
Depress the 9 (exit) key whenever you've finished using your mailbox.
Keeping Messages
Messages are stored in your voicemail box until you retrieve or delete it.
Bypass Recorded Greeting
Press 1 key to bypass someone's recorded voice mail greeting.
Short-cuts WHILE Playing Messages
1 -- Pause -- press "P" to continue
* -- Move back 5 seconds
# -- Move forward 5 seconds
T* -- Move back to the top of PREVIOUS message
T# -- Move forward to top of NEXT message
To Retrieve Messages from a Remote Phone Outside of Your Exchange
- Dial your phone number
- Press the * key when your greeting begins
- Enter your passcode
Dialing Codes Before System Prompts You
To change your greeting after you enter your passcode, immediately dial:
- 8 (U-User Options)
- 4 (G-Greeting)
- 7 (R-Record)
Record your greeting, then dial:
- 9 to exit the system
If you wish to hear what was recorded, dial:
- 8 (U-User Options)
- 4 (G-Greeting)
- 5 (L-Listen)
Distribution List/Broadcast Messaging Instructions
- What is a voice mail distribution list?
This options gives you the ability to leave the same voice mail message at multiple extensions at one time. You will need to add or delete each number individually. There is a maximum of 150 extensions per list.
- How do I set up a distribution list?
- Dial into your mailbox
- Press 8 for User Options
- Press 5 to add or change a distribution list
- Press A to add a new member
- Press D to delete a member
- Press M to record a name for the distribution list
- To add a distribution list
- Begin to enter each telephone number - Dial the 10-digit number
- Follow the prompts
- To send a broadcast message to the distribution list:
- Press 6 to make a message
- Dial the code for the distribution list, then press #
- You will be prompted to record a message
- When you finish recording your message, press #
- Press 9 to send your message
- You will receive a receipt from your broadcast message.
- The receipt will let you know when each person retrieved your message.
