This service offering encompasses a suite of Student Information Systems-related applications including, but not limited to, Banner, OSCAR, BuzzPort and Faculty Grade Entry.
The Banner system includes self-service applications (OSCAR), online screens, reports, and processes that provide access to real-time student information, including class rolls, class schedules, transcripts, recruiting and admissions information, financial aid information, and accounts receivable. Student Information Systems also include 3rd party applications that are integrated with Banner such as DegreeWorks, Touchnet, Axiom, Banner Imaging and others.
Banner is accessible by faculty, staff and students through the Georgia Tech's Enterprise Portal - Buzzport at:
Students will access Banner to perform self-service actions such as registration, update personal information, view course catalogs and schedules. They are presented a web based view of Banner and only require a compatible browser to login.
Faculty and Staff access Banner to perform an array of administrative functions. They use Internet Native Banner which is built on Java and therefore requires some coordination with computer support personnel to ensure their clients are properly configured. Departmental IT support staff are well versed with configuring desktops and staying informed of any application updates.
