Advice for Women

"Leverage online learning resources and networking platforms to explore IT roles that truly excite you,” she said. She also points to the power of mentorship. "Seek out mentors who can provide guidance, share their experiences, and help you navigate the complexities of the industry for women.”

Shaffer Lee is confident about the future for women in IT over the next decade. "I'm optimistic that we will see more women entering into IT careers, thanks to increased efforts to encourage K-12 STEM education. Also, as the industry continues to value diversity and inclusion, this will open the door and increase opportunities for supportive work environments that encourage women to join, and stay, in the tech sector — and we will see women ascend into more leadership roles.”
